The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning again featured the popular “Charm Cities” pavilion, where Chinese and ASEAN cities presented immersive, culture-rich displays. Entering the ASEAN zone immediately evoked a Southeast Asian atmosphere.
Visitors found Singapore continuing its garden-city concept with lush greenery, creating an urban park feel. Indonesia’s booth showcased striking, intricately carved gate pillars highlighting South Kalimantan’s woodcraft. Brunei featured a distinctive golden-domed spire reminiscent of Bandar Seri Begawan’s skyline. Myanmar’s Myitkyina used imagery and text to display culture, crafts, and landscapes like the Irrawaddy River and Hkakabo Razi.
China’s “Charm City” Guilin attracted long queues with a 200-square-meter immersive exhibit and the debut of an “AI Guilin” cultural-tourism model. Together, the displays offered a sensory, tech-enhanced glimpse of cities across ASEAN and China, showing how tradition and innovation converge at this international platform.
