Hong Kong will welcome the Year of the Horse with a lively night parade in Tsim Sha Tsui on the first evening of the Lunar New Year. The horse, long associated in Chinese culture with strength, success and forward momentum, sets the tone for an evening that blends tradition with contemporary performance.
On Tuesday, 17 February, local performing groups will take to the streets along the parade route, offering short performances that animate the area and build a lively, celebratory atmosphere ahead of the main event.
The main procession kicks off at 8pm, with horse-themed floats making their way through Tsim Sha Tsui, accompanied by performers from the Chinese mainland, overseas troupes and local groups. Together, they present a wide range of music, dance and theatrical routines that reflect Hong Kong’s diverse cultural landscape, setting the stage for a memorable start to the Lunar New Year.
