[Inno & Tech] Robots Leap into the Future: High Jumps and Guided Tours
: :

How high can robots jump? Can robot dogs serve as tour guides? The latest World Manufacturing Convention in Hefei showcased groundbreaking innovations from more than 40 companies, featuring impressive advancements in robotics.

A high-jump robot developed by the Jianghuai Advanced Technology Collaborative Innovation Center demonstrated remarkable leaping ability. Earlier this year, this mechanical athlete secured a silver medal in the standing high jump at the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Olympics. Engineers revealed that its uniquely designed leg joints—arranged in an opposing configuration—dramatically improve mid-air control and landing stability.

Meanwhile, a locally developed robot dog from a Hefei tech firm is redefining guided tours. Powered by sophisticated algorithms and robust computing, it performs guiding and commentary duties with ease. The company plans to deploy these robotic guides in parks, where visitors can simply scan a QR code on the dog to engage it as a personal tour companion. The robot's nimble movements and vast knowledge base have delighted audiences, with children particularly drawn to its charming presence.

The era of robots serving humans across diverse fields is steadily becoming a reality.
