A brand-new live entertainment venue, Tides, is set to open at the iconic ship-shaped Whampoa complex in Kowloon. Developed by global entertainment leader Live Nation, the organiser behind Coldplay’s recent concerts at Kai Tak Sports Park, Tides is set to make waves in the local entertainment scene. Designed to hold up to 1,500 attendees, the venue is expected to host around 250 events each year. With built-in sound, lighting, and flexible staging, Tides aims to fill a critical gap in Hong Kong’s live event market. Stephanie Bax, President of Venue Development Asia at Live Nation, highlighted the venue’s efficient setup and professional-grade features as key to attracting more international and regional talent. Chairlady of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Industry Association, Lisa Hui Ping-sum, also shared: “The launch of Tides will help nurture local talent and enhance the performance scene in Hong Kong”. Beyond concerts, the space will also be open to corporate functions, marketing showcases, and moderate-scale projects, making it a versatile hub for future events.
