Kai Tak Sports Park has opened Playfield 5, a vibrant new children’s playground spanning 4,000 square metres in the North Garden, inspired by salt fields dating back to the Song Dynasty.

The colourful landscape features rolling hills in yellow, green, blue, red, and orange, symbolising the five elements of Chinese philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—respectively. Designed to spark imagination and movement, Playfield 5 includes interactive installations such as a sandpit, zip lines, climbing walls and two towering 10-metre play structures.

Beyond play, the park promotes community engagement with multi-purpose courts for tennis, basketball and volleyball, which will be available to the public in the third quarter of the year. These facilities are also geared toward collaborative training and serve as warm-up grounds for major competitions, reinforcing the park’s role as a hub for both recreation and sporting excellence.
