Hong Kong is stepping up preparations for the 15th National Games with a citywide makeover and final readiness drills, as it gears up to host the event’s spectacular road cycling race across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area.The race will take cyclists along some of Hong Kong’s most iconic routes, including the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge and North Lantau Highway. Earlier this month, a smooth-running safety drill confirmed that the city is ready to welcome elite athletes to compete in a stunning coastal setting.Beyond logistics, Hong Kong is embracing the Games spirit through vibrant beautification efforts. Colourful bougainvillea plants now line key cycling routes, while landmarks such as the Hong Kong Velodrome, Kai Tak Sports Park, Victoria Park, and the Central Harbourfront have been refreshed with colourful tiles and National Games-themed designs.The upgrades aim to showcase the city’s vitality and create a festive, photo-worthy atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
